2018 Junior Parade Day

Wednesday, June 20, 2018 - 12:24 PM

What a celebration of junior football, both on and off the field at Claremont Oval last weekend. The annual Junior Parade Day was a wonderful gathering of hundreds of participants from junior clubs all across the Claremont District.

Aside from taking part in the parade prior to the afternoon WAFL match, there was kicking and handball target competitions and the ever popular big mark bouncy castle, to keep the fun rolling along.

For the artisically inclined, we introduced an arts corner this year. It was packed with youngsters eager to keep with work in between the lines!

Claremont Football Club CEO Graham Moss welcomed the junior paraders onto the oval and introduced them all to the Claremont members. Roving WAFC reporter Declan Cormack scanned the parade for interviewees and his Q and A sessions with the lucky participants went live to Claremont crowd.

Big winners on the day were the Mosman Park Junior Football Club, for best parade club and our best parade participant was 5 year old Izzie from Marist, who without doubt stole the show with her coin toss before the start of the main match.
